FAQ

So wait...what is this program exactly?

The Audacity Project is an online mentorship course in professional and creative development for working artists, and artists who want to be working.  We use an intensive format to excavate your authentic artistic values and desires, identify the blocks in your path, then we set to building bridges over them.  I use the vehicle of building (or re-building) your promotional materials to get to the heart of who you are as an artist, who you want to be, and where you want to go.  Then we build you a map to get there.  This course is designed to empower you from the inside out- it is not for the faint of heart.

Do you have to be located in the SF Bay Area to participate?

I hope not because I'm hardly ever there myself.  So, no way!  TAP is a 100% online course.  We communicate via weekly emails, video courses, and a private Facebook group.  You'll have the support of your peers as well as those who have gone through the program previously, and receive weekly assignments and resources to help you.  We have a wonderfully supportive, growing group of active participants from countries all over the world.

Will The Audacity Project be offered on an ongoing basis?

Several cycles are offered per calendar year.  You can check when the next cycle is by looking at the application.

What kind of assignments are we talking about?

We work our way through 10 modules for the 8-week series.

  • Your Product

  • Your Image

  • Your Act

  • Your Presentation

  • Your Community

  • Your Elevator Pitch

  • Your Resume

  • Your Market (pts I and II)

  • Your Reel

  • Your Website

One of the highlights of the program is that you come away with promotional materials you not only love, but that can stand the test of time.  Move easy through your world knowing that you put in the time and effort to get your materials to work for you- not the other way around.

But more valuable than that- you will come away with an understanding of who you want to be as an artist, a polished idea of what you want to do, how to get it, who to get it from, and how much to charge for it.  Boom.

Oh, and you get lifelong access to these modules for as long as I'm kickin it on the interwebs.

What else is involved?

The first step is filling out the application, and scheduling a short 15 minute consultation with me.  I only accept people I know I can help.  If we're a good fit for each other, I'll send you a contract for the 8 week cycle.  There is no down payment required to save your place, just the contract sent back to me signed.

Each cycle includes two video check-ins at Week #4 (halfway through the program) and at the conclusion of Week #8 where you can ask me alllll your questions and I can give you alllll the feedback.  We also have a group call in Week #7, and you have unlimited access to me via email, and I do hope that you'll use it.

Is this course just for aerialists?

NO!  While my beloved danglin beauties were the inspiration for this course, freelancers and other creatives have testified to the effectiveness of the course for them as well.

How do I know if this is right for me?

These are the things I look for in applicants before I offer them a space:

  1. Basic competence in your discipline.  I believe everyone has a capacity for excellence, but all I'm looking for is competence.  It's part of my job to steer you towards excellence.

  2. The ability to pay for the program without hurting your quality of life.  $85/week ($680) for 8 weeks of mentorship with very specific assignments, and follow up tete-a-tete.

  3. Have access to a computer and the internet, and basic computer literacy.

  4. Be willing and able to brave the wild unknown, the scary monsters in the closet, to do your own work and take responsibility for your progress.  This is the most important requirement.  I will coach my ass off, but I will not do the work for you.  Cause I don't believe in stealing people's money, or their power.

If you're not sure, write me!

Can't I do all this on my own?

Of course you can.  What this course is is a self-propelled natural progression which would normally take anywhere from 8 months to a year, compacted into 8 weeks, with someone (me) snapping at your heels for accountability, and giving you all the tools and support I have amassed over 10 years of research and experience.

But don't take my word for it...
